Description
About the programme
Ready to kickstart your career in a place where creativity meets strategy? At Sky, you’ll work alongside some of the brightest minds in marketing, media planning, and business strategy. Whether it’s getting the nation hyped about a new show, launching a fresh brand, or shaping our long-term commercial plans—you’ll be right at the heart of the action.
What you’ll be doing
Over two years, you’ll rotate through four different roles, giving you a broad view of how our business works and helping you discover where your strengths lie. You’ll take on real responsibilities, work on high-impact projects, and build the skills to become a future leader.
This programme is designed to springboard you into management, giving you the tools, experience, and confidence to make bold decisions and drive change.
Year 1: Build your foundation
You’ll start with two 6-month rotations in our Consumer Group, where you’ll:
Get creative in a marketing or insight role—think campaign planning, brand storytelling, and understanding what makes our customers tick.
Get analytical in a commercial or trading role—working with data, pricing strategies, and performance metrics to help drive revenue and growth.
This year is all about learning how Sky operates, how teams collaborate, and how we deliver value to millions of customers.
Year 2: Tailor your journey
You’ll choose two more rotations based on your interests and career goals. You can further specialise in the roles from Year 1 or discover new roles such as:
Brand strategy
Propositions and product development
Insight and analytics
Commercial content strategy
You’ll be supported to explore what excites you most and take on projects that stretch your thinking and grow your confidence.
What kind of work will you do?
Expect to dive into projects like:
Developing mobile sales plans to boost customer engagement
Leading consumer research to uncover new insights
Creating marketing campaigns for brand-new shows
Shaping our five-year business strategy
Collaborating with teams across the business to solve real-world challenges
This isn’t just a graduate programme—it’s your launchpad. You’ll gain exposure, build confidence, and discover what drives you. And when you finish, you’ll be ready to step into a permanent role that fits your passion and potential.
What we’re looking for
The one essential requirement is that you’re currently in the final year of your undergraduate degree, completing a postgraduate qualification, or have already graduated. Your degree can be in any subject.
Our programme is designed to give you all the knowledge and experience you need. So, it doesn’t matter what your degree is in. We’re much more interested in the passion, drive and talent you’re able to bring to the team.
Right to work: Please be aware that Sky do not offer sponsorship for this role, employment is contingent on you having a valid right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. You can find information on the length of our programmes on the website.
Your application journey
Here’s what to expect, step by step:
Step 1 – Apply online
Tell us a bit about yourself — your details, your degree, and anything else you think we should know (like part-time jobs, volunteering, or cool projects you’ve worked on).
Once you hit submit, keep an eye on your inbox (and your junk folder!) — we’ll send you a link to start your digital assessments.
Please note, you can only apply to one programme per year.
Step 2 – Show us your skills
You’ll complete two online assessments that help us get to know you better - how you think, what motivates you, and how you might fit into the programme..
Don’t worry — you’ll get a chance to practice first, and we’ll send you tips to help you feel confident.
We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.
Want to go a step further? Check out our Preparation Hub — it’s packed with practice exercises, insights into the assessment process, and stories from current grads and apprentices. You’ll even learn more about your values, learning style, and the kind of work that suits you.
Step 3 – In-Person Assessment Centre
If you make it to the final stage, we’ll invite you to an in-person assessment day.
You’ll take part in tasks designed to show us how you think, solve problems, and work with others — all while getting a real feel for what it’s like to work in Business at Sky.
We’ll let you know when to expect a decision after the day’s done.
Need Support? If you need us to make any adjustments to help you complete any stage of your application, let us know when you submit your application and someone from our Early Careers team will get in touch if we need more detail.
