Investor Relations Intern (London) - Summer 2027

The D. E. Shaw group seeks motivated, intellectually curious students to join the firm’s Investor Relations (IR) team as interns. This team plays a pivotal role in managing relationships with current and prospective investors. IR interns collaborate with a global team of investor relations professionals to learn about the firm’s investment strategies, products, and clients in a collegial work environment. This is a ten-week program that is expected to run from June to August 2027.

• Take on projects that require rigorous analytical thinking and creative problem solving.
• Responsibilities may include helping enhance various communication efforts, conducting prospect- and investor-focused research, participating in brainstorming sessions with colleagues, or attending meetings with investors.

• An impressive record of academic achievement with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and keen analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a structured approach to solving problems and driving projects forward, and exceptional attention to detail.
• A client-focused approach, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Curiosity to learn more about corporate strategy, capital markets, or the economy.
• Experience with consulting, venture capital, economic research, or product management/strategy through clubs or internships is a plus but not required.
• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree program in any field of study; no previous finance experience is necessary.
