Job title: Graduate Defence Solutions Supply Chain 

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (Hampshire). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 4 days per week.

Salary: £34,000 Per Annum + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Role description 

Procurement plays a critical role in ensuring our business has the products, services and supplier partnerships needed to deliver successful programmes and projects.

As a graduate, you will gain experience across a range of procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, managing supplier relationships, supporting contract and purchasing processes, and analysing data to identify opportunities for improvement. Working alongside experienced procurement professionals, you’ll develop commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and an understanding of responsible and sustainable supply chains. 
You’ll receive mentoring, structured development and hands-on experience while building the commercial, analytical and stakeholder management skills needed for a successful career in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
 
Core duties 

•    Support sourcing and procurement activities across a variety of categories and projects.
•    Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to help deliver goods and services on time and within budget.
•    Assist with supplier selection, commercial evaluations, and contract administration.
•    Analyse procurement and supplier data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
•    Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and governance requirements.
•    Develop strong commercial, communication, and stakeholder management skills through structured learning and practical experience.

The Defence Solutions Team

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
 

Qualification requirements

 As a minimum requirement you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Politics, Policy or Social Sciences.
